It's great to have Scottish rockers We Were Promised Jetpacks back albeit following a line-up change and a period of introspection (haven't we all). 'If It Happens' is part shoegaze, part 80s alternative pop and part slacker anthem if you take the lyric "all I want to do is get high and enjoy the view" at face value. However, as the bass line bubbles away and the guitar ping around like the DVD hold screen, you can hear the shared lethargy that the world has been forced in to over the past year or so - for those of us that haven't run a marathon in our gardens or written a series of fantasy novels. Energetic, thought provoking and hooky as hell. Perfect.
