I don’t care who you are, how old
you are or how your day is going, if you see a song called ‘Lady Isabel and the
Elf Knight’ and you aren’t even a little bit intrigued then you’re not the kind
of person I want to survive the apocalypse. Polly Paulusma has brought this
enchanting number in to the world with a gentle acoustic strum and the kind of
vocals that are not from the normal and humdrum world where things like
concrete and council tax exist. This is a sprightly, enthralling, and
cleansing piece of song writing that puts me in mind of the likes of Jake
Morley, Mae Karthauser and Luke Concannon which is all meant as a huge
compliment. I won’t ruin the story of the song for you but I can only recommend
you get involved with the beautifully animated lyric video to get the full experience.
