British artist Lailana brings
darkness and light to play on her new single ‘Pixelated Soundwaves’ which works
wonderfully with the video but even without the visual stimulation this is a
fantastic song. Lailana’s vocals have smooth soul and R&B tones but a
slicker, more direct delivery which hints at alt-pop or trip-hop ambitions. The
beats are fresh, the melodies flow like silk and there’s a low bass rumble that
gives this it’s dark underbelly which really isn’t expected but is entirely
welcome. Classy, creative, unique and expertly crafted – not a bad introduction
to a new artist.
