CASSIE PEARL - SINGLE REVIEW

Cassie Pearl - Party (The Animal Farm Label)

Release Date: Out Now

There is a real originality and freshness to Cassie Pearl's music that deserves to be shared around so that it has the best chance of landing in the right ears. Pearl's new single 'Party' sounds like someone has sent a fairly basic synth back to the 1920s during the verse which has tones of Kate Nash dueting with White Town. The verse, by contrast, is much more of a contemporary party anthem which is, to say the least, ironic as this song is primarily tackling the issue of being too low or anxious to attend the party going on elsewhere in the house - we've all been there, right? The other unique quality here is Pearl's voice which is dead-eyed but soulful, playful but deadly serious and perfect for this genre whatever it may be.
