So, Yr Poetry are a bit of a
supergroup featuring members of Johnny Foreigner, itoldyouiwouldeatyou and
Sunshine Frisbee Laserbeam which brings a whole load of experience and sounds
in to one powerful unit. That unit has created new single ‘Porthmaddog, dog’
which hits hard from the get-go as guitar and drums do battle for centre stage.
I’m reminded of bands I have loved like One Man Team Dance, Cassels and
Kidnapper Bell who unapologetically let their power, melodies, emotion and
observations flow out all at once to let you put the pieces together in your
own brain.
