LONG FOR THE COAST – SINGLE REVIEW

Long for The Coast – Splinter

Release Date: Out Now

When you read that this duo met and fell in love at Glastonbury and are now based in Totnes, you would be forgiven for thinking that this is going to be the hippiest pair you’ve ever heard. However, on the evidence of new single ‘Splinter’, Long for the Coast are actually a progressive new-folk duo with heaps of talent and ideas. Gently rippling rhythms mix with rapidly picked strings and the kind of vocal harmonies that money can’t buy to make something so organic and delightful that you’d be unsurprised to find it in a Totnes café. There are hints of Jake Morley, Luke Concannon and Brother & Bones at their most delicate so leave your preconceptions at the door and enjoy. I know I did.
