Bristol’s Shoun Shoun comes
squealing out of their garage in a Ford Cortina with dark new single ‘Stuck’
and they didn’t even put the door up. Taking elements of the Lovely Eggs, the
Raincoats and PJ Harvey, this track thrums along atop a low-slung bass line
with squalling guitars and lo-fi drums completing the picture. Vocally, this is
partly riot-girl and partly art-punk which goes along perfectly with the two-and-a-half-minute
track length and lo-fi garage video. A shock to the system, yes, but a very
welcome one.
