I’m rapidly becoming a big fan of
Miss Kill as the duo go from strength to strength with their take on Grunge.
The pair’s new single, ‘Being Young’, has a lazy, lolloping energy in the verse
like a dead eyed movie villain slowly stalking their prey with unerring inevitability
dragging a baseball bat along the floor. The chorus, by contrast, explodes with
power and melody like some bastard child of Veruca Salt, Hole, L7 and Lush
going on a rampage through a late 90s alternative club to find the girl with
the blackest eyeliner and best lip ring. There is light and dark, soft and
load, anger and poise all wrapped up in one song and that, my friends, is why I
rate Miss Kill oh so highly.
