Man on Man is the two-man vehicle
of Faith No More’s Roddy Bottum and Joey Holman and ‘1983’ is their new single –
a self-professed gay love song. Low slung guitar notes and driving drums are met
by the equally low vocals of both musicians which manage to maintain a sense of
melody whilst operating entirely in the bass section. This is as raw as it is
tender but equally it helps to normalise the love between two men without camping
it up or over sensationalising it. Amazing song, great visuals and, with any
luck, more to come.
