As Spring seems
to be on the way, I wanted to listen to something with a little hope and life
to it which led me to the door of Norway’s Frokedal & Family. The new single,
‘Son’, has a timeless quality with influences from the Beach Boys and the
Carpenters right up to the Polyphonic Spree and Ida Wenoe which makes for a
gorgeously written and performed composition. The guitars are light, the vocals
sweet and the drums full of bounce which, when put together as expertly as
this, makes for the kind of song that will summon green shoots up through the
ground and songbirds to the branches of the trees. Bliss.
