from Montreal’s Clara Jones courtesy of her new single ‘Ordinary Person’. The
delicate, plodding guitar notes under the breathy opening lyrics of “I’m afraid
of the dark so I haven’t been sleeping, feeling the weight of my lightness of
being” and immediately the listener is transmitted to an extremely intimate and
privileged place. Once the beat joins in there is suddenly a lightness that
wasn’t there before and it sounds like the music Feist might have made if she
had been the vocalist with St Etienne or Dubstar. Sublime.
