Here we are folks, this is the lockdown
cabin fever anthem we’ve all been waiting for and I would have put money on
this coming from the indomitable London duo Cherryade. The appropriately titled
‘Scream’ starts with a barrage of sounds before those trademark acerbic vocals
kick in with a list of the various mundanities of lockdown living. Like a
British version of Sleigh Bells, the frustration and anger comes flooding from
every pore until the breakdown where a soothing voice advises us to take a deep
breath and make a cuppa. Hang in there folks, we’re nearly there and if you
need to vent then just play this one at full volume while you rock foetally and
scream in to some banana bread.
