It’s been a cracking year for the
Hempolics, marred only by a lack of live shows and festivals to bounce around
it. Nevertheless, the collective are topping off their year with one last
single in the shape of ‘In the Night’, and it’s a great showcase for the vocals
of Nubiya Brandon as well as the laid back skank of the band. Each musician
gets the chance to show off their chops from the tight drumming and smooth bass
to the scratching guitars and dancing keys but the Hempolics are so much
greater than the sum of their parts.
