Gretta Ray would be positioned between Taylor Swift and Florence Welch based on
the evidence of new single, ‘Passion’. There is undeniable pop nous to the
songwriting here and Ray’s vocal has the warmth and range of a polished pop
star but there is also the experimental edge and lyrical gymnastics of artists
that come at music from a slightly unusual angle. There has been a lot of great
music coming out of Australia in 2020 and Gretta Ray is right up there with the
