‘Yack’ is an undeniably unusual
and original name for a song but then Please Prettylea is an undeniably unusual
and original artist. As a meandering piano melody drifts out in the birdsong of
the garden we are suddenly swept away by Please Prettylea’s breathy vocals and dark,
trip-hop inspired vibes. The beat lurches and scatters like someone trying to prove
their sobriety after a bottle brandy and the bass does it’s best to keep its
best pal steady. The reason for the insistent movement is the siren song of
those sultry vocals but what they fail to notice is the menace and mischief in
her eyes. Not until it’s too late anyway…
