I’m not sure that regret-pop is a
genre as of yet but if it is then Kayla Diamond’s new single ‘I Should Have
Listened to my Friends’ is the anthem that genre needs. Slick pop vocals wrought
with emotion talk of falling in love with the wrong one despite the protestations
of friends while Bastille-esque drums and pop harmonies carry you away. Diamond’s
style sits comfortably alongside the likes of Taylor Swift or Becky Hill but
there is a purity and poise to this track that really makes it stand out.
