I’m not sure I can overstate just how good this new track
from Jessica Wilde, may main concern is understating it but here goes. ‘Play
God’ takes Wilde’s notoriously soulful vocal and matches it, initially, with a
darkly Massive Attack inspired beat and atmospheric melodies as well as the
understated charm of Charlie Perry’s guest vocal. As the song continues to
pulse and writhe, it builds to an intense, intimate, euphoric and, dare I say
it, orgasmic climax. This is in Donna Summer leagues of sexuality and
sensuality within a song and the video compliments this perfectly so I would
encourage you to lose yourself in this one and let Jessica Wilde carry you away
on a tide of ecstasy.
