There aren’t many songs out there
that can start with the line “just shut up” and not make you want to
immediately switch off, but Bristol outfit Goan Dogs manage it with aplomb. New
single ‘Shut Up’ is a hypnotic blur of pinging guitars, crunching beats, 80s synths
and a bass line to die for (I’m sucker for a good bass line, take note). The
pop nous behind the melodies is matched with icy indie cool and this makes for
the kind of track that will appeal across the board, I know it appeals to me in
a big way.
