Post Yoga is the new solo project
of Bristol based Chris Barrett armed with only a Yamaha PSS-170 that he picked
up for £4 at a charity shop. The fruits of that particular purchase is the
intriguingly titled new single ‘Phil’ and it is surprisingly emotive considered
the minimalist instrumentation. Barrett’s voice has an 80s pop quality to it
which works perfectly with the droning keyboard notes and pulsing electronic
beats. This creates a complete package that doesn’t fit a pigeonhole, keeps you
guessing and will split opinion like a Marmite covered Brexit referendum. I’m
firmly on the remain side, in every sense.
