I don’t know what I was expecting from this team up between
Frank Turner and Jon Snodgrass but it certainly wasn’t speed-punk’n’country
with lazer eyed cats. Seemingly recorded over Zoom from four of the most enviable
spare rooms in the business, ‘Bad Times Good Vibes’ gets cracking with
breakneck pace and some bone rattling riffs while the drums do their best to
keep up. Then comes the country break down with some pedal steel giving us a
chance to catch our breath before the furious mash up crescendo and end of level
boss battle between a fire breathing dog and the aforementioned super powered
cat. Is there a suggestion that some screws have come loose during lockdown?
Abso-bloody-lutely and it’s a lot of fun.
