London’s Damn Vandals are back with
a lockdown anthem dripping in all the desperation and isolation of the last few
months. ‘Into the Light of Love’ is built around a raw, scratchy guitar riff
that was probably recorded in an abandoned lock-up and it’s blended roughly
with desperate vocals and the kind of drumming that is as much cymbal work as
it is tub thumping. There’s an accompanying video featuring the PG Tips monkey
and the production values of the Adam & Joe show which I am very much in
favour of. See, good things can come from dark places.
