Well, this is a bit lovely. As the
sun goes down on my day, the gentle piano chords of this latest release from
Grace Bland start to soothe my weary soul. ‘Human’ is the second single from Bland
and it is as pure and honest as music comes with a list of self-reflective
thoughts making up the lyrics while the piano is augmented by a simple beat and
some carefully placed guitar notes. Bland’s voice is that of someone trying to
emerge from their chrysalis into a new stage of life with hope, ambition and
not a little trepidation. There is real talent here and it is no small compliment
to say that this reminds me of the early Jake Morley material in terms of song-writing
and delivery.
