London based duo Sides reached
out with an actual personal email that hardly felt copy and pasted at all
which, for future reference, does make a difference. The two-piece’s new single,
‘Hands in the Heat’, is a fresh and light slice of airy alt-pop that takes you
to care-free days spent near water and drenched in the kind of sunshine that
warms you through to your bones without ever making you sweat. With the breathy
vocals of Criz and the bouncy, squelchy melodies of Ryan, Sides make music that
would sit nicely alongside the likes of St Etienne and Mint Royale and that, in
my book, is never a bad thing.
