I think SaRaha is the
first Swedish-Tanzanian artist I’ve featured on this blog which instantly makes
here the best but even if I’d had a glut of submissions from Swedish-Tanzanians
then this cover of the classic French pop hit ‘Ca Plane Pour Moi’ would put her at the top of the pile.
While the energy is still there like the original, SaRaha has given this a real
make over with lyrics translated into Swahili among other languages. Then there’s
the music which borrows from Afro Beat and Scandi-Pop to make a suitably fun
and bouncy homage to the Plastic Bertrand original from 1978.
