I’m going to let the terrible
band name slide because London collective Outer Stella Overdrive present something
truly original in this day and age – a band that doesn’t fit the mould or dress
to the blueprint. The band’s new single, ‘Bad Times’, has the gang vibe of the
Libertines along with the scratchy guitars and muttered vocals in behind the
main thread but there’s a healthy ska bounce in here that gives this a real party
edge too. The accompanying video was directed by actress Sadie Frost and shows
the band off as their natural party loving selves but then that might be
because Frost is the mother of frontman Raff Law and you’re never uncool in the
eyes of your mum.
