I can’t get enough of Lack of
Afro at the moment so it’s lucky for all of us that the great tunes keep
coming. The latest single from Westcountry Mark Ronson (as nobody calls him) is
‘You Could Do Better’ and features the achingly soulful and dusky vocal tones
of Camila Recchio turning this Winehouse infused ballad into something with
real Motown chops. Throw in the rapping of Wax and we’re bringing Tamla right
up to date as the rhythm guitars scratch and the drums rolls with all the
heartache of back in the day but all the precision and cool of right here and
right now. It’s a cliché sign off but I don’t think you’ll be able to do much
better than Lack of Afro this summer.
