STANLEY DUKE & THE KINDRED SPIRITS – SINGLE REVIEW

Stanley Duke & The Kindred Spirits – King of
the Pentacles

Release Date: Out Now

It has just dawned on me that Cornish collective Stanley Duke & the Kindred Spirits could easily be the musical side project of Noel Fielding and Matt Berry. Take the wonderfully leftfield vibes of new single ‘King of the Pentacles’, for example, which enters at a fair gallop and doesn’t let up for nearly four minutes as swaggering guitars and ramshackle drums jam for all their worth. The vocals are dripping in 70s glam rock influences in terms of style and the effects in use which, when all bundled up together, makes for one hell of a track that both Toast and the Mighty Boosh would be proud of.
