This is the debut release by
Dublin artist Efe (pronounced Eff-Ay) but only under this name after a
reinvention from 2019. ‘Seven’ is an incredibly sparse and raw slice of chilled
hip-hop meets R’n’B that reminds me of the likes of Arrested Development and PM
Dawn in terms of vibe. Efe’s voice is soft and soothing with a real sense of purity
about the emotion in her lyrics which can’t help but lift your spirits, even in
your darkest hour. Super chilled but also hugely uplifting so this might be
just what you need right now.
