This is the third single from
Amaroun that I’ve had the pleasure of reviewing and ‘Rise’ does nothing to stop
the Peckham artist’s growing reputation. A low slung bass line and an ultra
laid-back beat create a sultry bed for this one which is embellished with some tantalisingly
sparse keys. This leaves just enough space for Amaroun’s super soulful and
dusky vocal to do it’s trademark thing which creates a vibe that is something
like Hip-Hop but with a more intimate sensation that genuinely feels like you’re
being serenaded on a one-to-one basis.
