It seems Yorkshire’s Percy have been around for quite a
while but, sadly, I’m only just getting to hear of them which is a shame based
on incendiary new single ‘Will of the People’. The anti-government anthem
rattles along with unrelenting pace as the brilliantly animated video does it’s
best to illustrate the swivel-eyed careering of the UK in to some nostalgia fuelled
dystopian future. Rattling guitars, clattering drums, a growling bass and vocals
delivered through the kind of gritted teeth developed through having bitten
your tongue so hard for so long that you’ve gone through and now developed an
angry lockjaw. I suspect that this will capture a growing mood among those of
us who have had enough of the daily ‘briefings’ that don’t tell us anything
real and the weekly clapping to paper over the cracks in funding. Just don’t
expect any great coverage from the Daily Mail…
