Time for a slinky number from the
reliably excellent Nicole Atkins as new single ‘Mind Eraser’ slides in to view
on a cloud of dry ice, holding a cocktail with lipstick on the rim of the glass.
Atkins’ breathy vocals mix with the Bowie inspired piano notes and skiffling rhythm
section to lay a clear path for the gorgeous strings to join in and make things
swell so glamorous proportions. Throw in a gently searing guitar solo and you
have the kind of track that should be getting an awful lot of attention ahead
of the new album it is part of. Definitely one to get excited about.
