It’s not everyday you get sent
music from a “genre bending New Zealand/Persian rapper” so you kind have to
check it out, don’t you? Chaii is the aforementioned rapper and her new single,
‘Trouble’, is well worth your time. There’s a dark confidence to the vocal
delivery which hits you between the eyes with Chaii staring at you unblinkingly
while the rumbling bass line and galloping beats combine to create the kind of
tune that picks you up and carries you along. The accompanying video, shot in
Oman, is also an excellent piece of work that fits perfectly with the music.
