British supergroup the Jaded
Hearts Club features a lot of matching leather jackets along with members of
Muse, the Zutons, Blur, Jet and the Last Shadow Puppets. ‘Nobody But Me’ is the
new release from gang and it’s actually a lot of fun. There’s a rattling guitar
throb, pounding drums and a whole lot of vocal harmonies going on as the
collective career through some Beatles-esque melodies that definitely wear the
Zutons and Jet influences on their leather sleeve. Weirdly, this feels slightly
less than the sum of its parts but maybe that’s the point – this is what huge
rock’n’roll stars do to unwind and that’s OK by me.
