Brighton trio Something Leather are sashaying into the party
with come-to-bed eyes and a real sense of purpose on new single ‘Farewell
Fareworse’ so keep your wits about you. Keys swirl, guitars stab and drums
thunder to create a track that would fit in to a psych-rock playlist alongside
Calva Louise and the Joy Formidable beautifully but it’s the vocals of
frontwoman Phillie Etta Jane that really seal the deal, blending rock’n’roll
snarl, dusky soul and pop sass expertly. Bloody marvellous stuff.
