MISS KILL – SINGLE REVIEW

Miss Kill – Explain Yourself

Release Date: 29th February 2020

Miss Kill are Bristol sisters Alannah and Felicity Jackson and they make one hell of a racket which makes me feel sorry for their parents/neighbours, but I bet there’s a lot of pride going on too. The duo’s new single, ‘Explain Yourself’, crashes in as the duel between Guitar and Drums hits like early Veruca Salt or Nirvana before settling into a classically downtempo grunge verse. The chorus explodes in an eruption of distortion on the guitars, of course, but on the desperate, banshee-esque vocals too. There is raw, untamed energy as well as an excellent control of the genre but, most importantly, there is an absolute and undeniable force behind this which comes from two people needing to make music. Christ, imagine if they didn’t have this as an outlet? Get Miss Kill on a bill with Rews and watch the place explode.
