I want to be angry with this
track. I want to be angry with the idea that somebody who wasn’t even conceived
in the 80s – the greatest decade – can release a song called ‘80s Arcade’ and I
want to be angry with the fact that the 80s is so long ago but it’s hard to be angry
around such a perky pop song. The dreamy electro melodies and uplifting chorus
are infectious, the beat makes you want to drive down neon lit streets and the whole
thing is absolutely drenched in well observed nostalgia (particularly the
Street Fighter pastiche in the video which actually made me smile out loud).
So, if you’re feeling angry then give this one a try and hopefully it will help
your troubles melt away.
