Swedish outfit Diskopunk seem like
a bunch of fun guys that you’d want at your party, based primarily on new
single ‘Scooter Gang’ and the superb accompanying video. The dirty synth buzz
and pounding beat is matched by a vocal that is somewhere between David Bowie
and Sparks and then comes a sidewinding guitar to seal the deal. As the band
members show off their best dance/wrestling moves in the video, we are treated
to an experience that sits between Goose, Soulwax and LCD Soundsystem in the middle
of a strip club with a pocket full of pills and a class full of cocktails. Let the
party begin.
