Release Date: Out Now
Toronto band The Fame have struck on a great name (can’t believe nobody has used that one before) and coupled it with a fantastic sound on new single ‘Maybe, Tomorrow’. Urgent, rattling guitars, puncturing drums and laconic vocals evoke memories of the Strokes, Hot Hot Heat and the Dandy Warhols in their youthful prime and that is always going to get the hairs on the back of my neck standing up on end. Occasionally the quartet stray in to distorted, grunge territory which I am absolutely cool with, but they never let go of the drive and melody which is what makes this so appealing. The track has a proper, thought through ending too which always gets a bonus point in my book.
