MATTHEW GORDON PRICE – SINGLE REVIEW

Matthew Gordon Price – Everything I Could
Matthew Gordon Price - Everything I Could

Release Date: 29th November 2019

Bearded Plymouth based troubadour and budding music mogul Matthew Gordon Price is back with a new single and, in an act of sheer decadence, he’s only gone and included a prelude. Before we get to the main course, we are treated to an appetiser in the shape of ‘Idle’, a beautifully forlorn instrumental piano melody that wouldn’t be out of place in the scene of a film where the protagonist wakes up after a storm or a row and starts to see the shards of light or hope through the darkness. The meat of this meal, however, comes with ‘Everything I Could’ which opens with MGP’s voice crying out into the night before his band joins in with a steady, reassuring melody. There is a maturity and a fullness to the sound on this single which sounds like an artist building up to something bigger, something more substantial. Matthew Gordon Price is album ready and we can only hope that 2020 brings us that debut long player that we’ve all been craving.

Live Dates:
