this single opens with the warning ‘Long Story Short’ and that is no
understatement. London based multinational combo Livingston have been evolving
and shifting shape for over a decade now but that’s what any band worth their
salt should be doing, right? ‘Sabotage’ is the sound of a band free of any
creative shackles as they emerge from a subdued vocal and beat combination into
a squalling guitar onslaught that is reminiscent of Shihad or Chris Cornell
material. The slick production, soaring vocals and uplifting key changes make this
a rock track with real power, class and, dare I say it, panache. If this is
your first time with Livingston then the great news is they have quite the back
catalogue too so you can use this as your gateway drug and have a whole load of
fun with it.
