YOUNG KNIVES – SINGLE REVIEW

Young Knives – Red Cherries
Young Knives - Red Cherries

Release Date: Out Now

It’s been four years since criminally underrated Young Knives have released any new material and, by the looks of it, they’ve been squirrelled away in a countryside studio, Withnail & I style, living off homemade gin and petrol station snacks for sustenance. Whatever they’ve been up to, it’s working as new single ‘Red Cherries’ is an absolute masterpiece of their particular niche of dark-indie with a disturbing video to match. Jazz inspired drums, a huge slab of guitars and the angelically tortured vocals all come in at once like the fevered dream of an out of work actor suffering from mild schizophrenia. Sure, they won’t be invited on to Strictly to play this one and I’m pretty sure this would physically and mentally destroy the ‘cast’ of Made In Chelsea but that wasn’t what you came here for, was it? Health warning: don’t watch the video late at night on your own.

Live Dates:

25th November – The Lexington, London w/Pozi [Sold Out]
10th January – Rockaway Beach @ Butlin’s, Bognor Regis
