Jack Cookson – Ironashley
Jack Cookson - Ironashley |
Release Date: 22nd September 2019
Jack Cookson is a bit of a
wandering minstrel and one hell of a troubadour, but his latest release is a departure
for him musically and it’s a real trip for the rest of us. ‘Ironashley’ emerges
from the tall reeds of the Southern American swamps with a steely guitar sound,
wending violins and an ‘O Brother Where Art Thou?’ stomp. Cookson’s voice has a
timeless authenticity to it which instantly appeals and he has a story to tell
which pretty much seals the deal. Pitched somewhere between Harbottle & Jonas,
Laura Marling and Crazy Arm, Jack Cookson is the real deal so if you can catch
him live or just fall in love with this track then you’ll be doing yourself a
favour and I’m pretty sure Cookson will be happy too.
