NEVERLANDED – SINGLE REVIEW

Neverlanded – Refuge
Neverlanded - Refuge

Release Date: 31st October 2019

If you’ve been yearning for a band to revisit that early Nirvana sound when Kurt was at his most drawling, then you’re yearning days are over, my friend. London based trio Neverlanded are releasing new single ‘Refuge’ and it is a fuzzed up, fucked up noise fest with clattering drums and a dirty bass sound. Aside from the early Nirvana nods, there are elements of the Pixies, Silverchair and the Subways in there – especially in the chorus where all three members chant “we all smile the same” over those beautifully muddy guitars. Oh, and there’s a nice little breakdown at the end which goes all Tame Impala on our asses just when you thought you knew where you were. It’s out on Halloween or, in the UK, Brexit day so it’s the perfect tune to be terrified to.

Live Dates:

18th September – Dublin Castle, London
7th October – Foxy Hit the Nest @ the Birds Nest, London
