The evolution of Lots Holloway
continues as she moves from acoustic singer-songwriter to bona fide indie-pop
chanteuse. Holloway’s new single ‘Heaven Now’ is a real departure from her
previous work as she takes on religion and sex with rapid vocal delivery and
some gospel organs. There is a uniqueness to Holloway’s voice that may split
opinion but I’m firmly in the ‘yes’ camp as the breathlessness and impish tones
match the playful melodies and uplifting chord progressions. I could see this
one being used in a new Netflix series or a healthy lifestyle advertisement
campaign such is the sunshine in the melody and energy in the vocal delivery.
