SKUNK ANANSIE – SINGLE REVIEW

Skunk Anansie – What You Do For Love
Skunk Anansie - What You Do For Love

Release Date: Out Now

Of all the 90s bands that have reformed recently, Skunk Anansie feels like one that adds something to the current musical landscape rather than just bashing out some of their hits with a bit of padding. New single ‘What You Do For Love’ is built around a typically brooding bassline and punchy drums before that distinctive vocal of Skin’s joins in with reassuring punk attitude and sucker-punch fragility that turns to ferocity with a deft blink of the eye. A pumping, mosh inducing chorus and some power chords in the middle eight are the icing and cherry on the cake – a cake which I very much want more of.
