CULTDREAMS – SINGLE REVIEW

Cultdreams – Not My Generation (Big Scary
Cultdreams - Not My Generation
Monsters)

Release Date: Out Now

You know that anthem you’ve been looking for? Y’know, the one fuelled by anger at all the injustice, apathy and ignorance of 2019 and spat out like bloodied teeth in a street brawl? Yeah, well it’s just been delivered by a Yodel driver on a zero hours contract who is sleeping in his car tonight. Duo Cultdreams (formerly Kamikaze Girl) have crafted new single ‘Not My Generation’ out of discarded protest banners, broken promises and the shattered futures of everyone under voting edge and it sounds glorious. Imagine a world where Cassels and Kate Tempest collaborated on song-writing duties before handing this over to Deux Furieuses to thrash out in one take and you’re standing in a world that needs fixing. Badly. This won’t be to everyone’s taste but then neither is abject poverty, paying for medical care or rampant normalised misogyny.
