Brighton duo Sun (seriously, nobody
has used that before?) are announcing themselves to the world with their debut
single ‘Higher Fire’ and it’s an announcement worth listening to. A spiky drum
roll followed by some heavy riff action signals the start of this one before
the enchanting and bewitching verse vocal of Karoline Rose lulls you into a
false sense of security. Your security is soon breached, however, as Rose
switches in to metal screaming on the chorus and you would be a bold set of
ears to not draw a comparison with Hole but there are elements of Royal Blood,
the Joy Formidable and Deux Furieuses in there as well makes this one hell of a
debut.
