For a chap who has a self-confessed
‘love/hate’ relationship with music, Pekoe Cat sure creates original and captivating
tuneage. ‘Invisibility Cloak’ is hung around a bubblingly funky bass line that
has no business burrowing its way into my head the way it has but, fortunately,
there is an awful lot of other stuff going on here to distract you. The woozy
guitars, the skittish beats, Pekoe Cat’s dreamy vocal and a whole host of other
elements combine to make the kind of tune that will either set your summer
party going or annoy the crap out of you but if music doesn’t get a response
one way or another then it’s just noise, right?
