Oxnard resident Mauri Tapia is
the Mexican-American behind Los Retros and this two and half minute delight of
a single so now you’ve got the back story let’s get on with the music. ‘Friends’
is the new release from Los Retros and it has a wonderfully chilled vibe which
puts me in mind of Ben’s Symphonic Orchestra and the Watanabes in the most
beautiful way. Chilled guitars, laid back guitars and Tapia’s dreamy vocals all
wash in on a warm breeze with only the bubbling bass line giving this any sense
of energy. Perfect for the onset of summer nights, beach parties and the sun
never going down on good times with good friends.
