Swedish producer Boerd (aka Bard
Ericson) has a real treat for us on minimalist new single ‘It Fades Away’ and
we should all be very grateful. The heavily delayed piano notes are icy cold at
first but there’s a warmth in their resonance and the bass line coupled with
the slow beat gives this track a comforting, almost homely feel. There are traces
of Air or Boards of Canada in there somewhere but the Scandinavian vibe is
there front and centre in the mix and it makes for a genuinely absorbing
experience.
